Foldforming Workshop with Charles Lewton-Brain
Foldforming Workshop with Charles Lewton-Brain
Weekend Course | 10 to 4:30 pm
No previews experience required.
Discover the art of Foldforming, a revolutionary and intuitive approach to shaping metal that celebrates the natural properties of the material. Unlike traditional methods that impose form, Foldforming leverages the plasticity, ductility, and elasticity of metal to create stunning designs with ease.
Originally invented and developed in the late 1980s by Charles Lewton-Brain, this groundbreaking technique will be taught by Charles himself in this workshop. This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from the creator, gaining invaluable insights and expertise straight from the source.
Foldforming allows you to achieve complex, high-relief shapes quickly and efficiently—many dramatic transformations can be completed in just minutes.
Tools are simple; fingers, hands, hammers, mallets, anvils and rolling mills. Complex high relief forms are produced from single sheets of metal often with a single annealing.
