Have you completed our Cold Connections course or equivalent and want to learn more? Our Silversmithing Fundamentals course is your next step. It’s perfect for beginners wishing to develop a solid foundation of the tools and techniques needed to start making your own jewellery!
Over 6 weeks, your instructor will guide you through the fundamental skills of piecework, annealing, basic soldering, fabricating a ring, how to make jump rings & findings, using the polishing machine and more!
By the end of the course, you will have learnt the skills required to fabricate a ring, pendant or pair of earrings of your design to make during the last two classes. Which, of course, you get to keep! In addition to your final project, you will walk away with various samples and pieces from the techniques learned, including your own custom sterling silver ring band.
*All required tools and equipment are included. Materials for samples are included. Sterling silver is available for purchase for your final projects.
This course is part two of a 'two part' prerequisite for our more advanced courses and workshops such as Roller Printing & Surface Treatments and Intro to Bezel Setting. Once you have completed both Intro to Jewellery and Jewellery Foundations, you will be eligible to come in for our Open-Studio Bench Rentals.
