Join jeweller Matthieu Cheminée from Montreal for this immersive two-day workshop exploring the art of stamp making and metal stamping.
You’ll begin by learning about different types of steel and their properties, as well as essential techniques like annealing and carving designs using files. Through step-by-step demonstrations, you'll create a minimum of five uniquely shaped stamps, each introducing new methods of shaping and texturing steel. You'll also learn how to properly harden and temper the steel, ensuring your handmade stamps become long-lasting tools.
Once your custom stamps are complete, you'll explore how to accurately lay out and stamp patterns on silver or copper sheet, using your designs to craft a beautifully stamped bracelet.
This workshop offers a hands-on, in-depth approach to working with steel and stamping techniques, perfect for those looking to expand their jewelry-making skills.
